New Terrain and Hard-Surfaced Competition Center at the Halikko Relay
This year, the Halikko Relay will take place in the western parts of Salo and the former municipality of Halikko. The competition will use entirely new terrain, for which no orienteering map has previously existed. In already well-mapped Southwest Finland, this may raise some eyebrows, but the terrain is both challenging and of high quality. More information about the terrain and courses will be shared closer to the event.
The event will open with the Children’s Halikko Run, an orienteering race without forking for the H12 and D13 classes. The competition features GPS Tracking, and we aim to ensure that all participants are included in the tracking.
As in recent years, the Halikko Relay will have two classes: Competition and Open. In the Open class the team composition requirements apply only to the first leg. Detailed Class Requirements for the Competition class can be found in the Event Invitation.
The Competition Center will be located alongside Tapiolantie, which runs through the competition area, on a former gravel extraction site. The center is compact but offers all essential services: a restaurant, sports shops, a Spectator Control, and a large screen for following the competition. A live broadcast will also be produced and can be watched from home. In addition, washing facilities with outdoor showers will be available at the event.
Welcome to the 37th Halikko Relay!
