XVII HALIKKO ORIENTEERING RELAY - PRELIMINARY JUKOLA RELAY 2006

Saturday 15th of October 2005 in Halikko

Halikko Orienteering Relay is an orienteering relay with 15 legs for club teams. This year Halikko Relay is also open for combinated teams according to exeption permit from Finnish Orienteering Federation.

Gaffling is used in every leg.

START: Relay starts at 11 AM, winner team will finish at 2.30 PM.

TEAM COMPOSITION: There has to be at least 4 ladies and maximum of 6 H19-39 runners in the team. Leg 14 is allowed only for ladies.

CLASS DEMANDINGS: In each team there has to be at least:
one D -16 or D45- runner and
one H/D -14 or H/D55- runner and
two H/D -16 or H/D45- runners and
two H/D -18 or H/D40- runners.

COMPETITION METHOD: There will be one runner on the first leg who sends simultaneously three second leg's competitors to three routes (2A, 2B and 2C) according to the running order. The route letters are marked behind the maps. Legs 2-5 are carried through by three runners simultaneously (parallel). Every runner will send one runner to the next leg, for instance runner from the route 2A sends the third leg's runner to the route 3A and so on. The lady runner on the leg 14 can start when all three runners from the fifth leg have came to the changeover.

ENTRIES AND ENTRY FEES: Entries will have to be done not later than on Thursday 6th of October by registrating and filling an electric form in Halikko Orienteering Relay Entry service in competition's Internet pages (http://www.angelniemenankkuri.com/halikkoviesti2005/) or by post to address Risto Kivinen, Karjaskyläntie 87, FIN-24100 SALO. Entry fee before the 6th of October is 150 €.

Late entries not later than on Wednesday 13th of October 180 € using the Entry service in competition's Internet pages.

The entry fees must be paid on the following bank account: Angelniemen Ankkuri, SWIFT OKOY FI HH, SOP 541050 - 11008.

PUNCHING SYSTEM AND RUNNING ORDERS: Every team must use at least 8 different Emit cards. When using 8 cards must runners on the 14th and 15th leg have a card of their own. The other legs will use the rest of the cards by turns.

Teams' running order can be annonced in the Entry service already when registering. Running orders must be announced in the Entry service not later than Friday 14th of October at 8.00 PM. There is no need to send the numbers of own Emit cards with the registration, they will be read into the result service system at the competition centre.

EMIT RENT: The organisers rent Emit cards at the price of 32 €/team (8 pcs). The need of Emit renting must be announced when making the entry.

ROAD GUIDANCE: The guidance to the competition center will be from Main road 110 (old Helsinki-Turku road number 1) 4 km from Salo to Helsinki. The guidance will take place on Saturday morning at 8 AM.

MAP: Scale 1 : 10 000, contour line 5 m, 6 colours, observing the IOF norms, printed 10/05.

COMPETITION CENTER: The competition center will be built on dry moor area.

TERRAIN: Terrain is typical for western Finland. The running ground of the competition area is mainly fast. The terrain is dominated by high hill areas, which slopes' are small figured, swamps and also varied forest terrain.

SHOWERS: At the competition center, warm water.

PRIZES: Six best teams will award a prize.

"THE BEST CLUB" COMPETITION: 60 best teams will get points (60-1). The winner will be the club, which teams get the biggest amount of points.
